Brand language and consultancy
We are brand communications consultants. At the outset of your thinking, into the concepts, out to the audience. It all takes words and we make words count.
We make sure words work with visuals, so that any brand communication sings in tune. So that the right people hear it, feel it, get it.
Why choose Ideal
We work closely with commercial, public sector and charity organisations to get to the heart of what you stand for. Then we translate it into the right messages. For internal and external audiences.
Sometimes organisations come to us purely for help with creating more inspiring brand language. Sometimes they want help with strategic thinking on brand development work. Mostly it’s for our combined skills of brand insight and ability with words.
Did we mention our discount for charities?

Examples of our work ...
Clarion Interpreting: appealing to all audiences
Clarion is a business serving the Deaf marketplace that needed a brand refresh to launch new services beyond a basic core of sign language interpreting. Ideal persuaded Clarion to position its new services through key messages aimed equally at three key audiences, including freelance sign language interpreters, its front-line brand ambassadors.
JustAct: a name that inspires action
The Community Development Foundation had the task of bringing the Third Sector Declaration of Climate Change to life via a website designed to get supporters to sign up and share practical information. Ideal created the positioning, name and key messages for JustAct, urging people to Sign, Act and Share.
Merseyside Police: adding up the benefits
A government directive encouraged Merseyside Police to run its biggest ever communications campaign to improve its public confidence rating. Working with Origin Creative, Ideal devised a series of short, punchy messages designed to demonstrate that ‘more action = less crime’ and ‘It all adds up’. In the first 6 months, the force's rating moved up considerably.
Navigo: a new social enterprise given direction
In opting to leave the NHS to become a social enterprise business, North East Lincolnshire Mental Health Services needed help to communicate itself as a brand. Working with Stepping Out, Ideal took the organisation through an inclusive naming process, enabling people to understand the issues and make a positive choice on name and strapline.
Stepping Out: starting from scratch
Successful social entrepreneur, Craig Dearden-Phillips, was setting up a new business helping public sector services become private social enterprises under the government’s ‘Right to Request’ scheme. Starting from scratch, Ideal helped name, create and build a brand around a simple, three-stage process of which the eponymous ‘Stepping Out’ was the most important.
