Debbie Griffiths is co-founder and joint managing director of Ideal. She is a strong communicator, with equally strong ideals. She is naturally proactive and full of ideas. She likes to nurture relationships and achieve goals with clients.
Debbie works with big brands like Yell, Diageo, South West Trains, easyJet, Vodafone and WRAP – and many less well-known brands too – helping them to write for internal and external audiences. And even win awards for their work.
She works in both strategic and hands-on capacities on CSR and cause related marketing campaigns and communications. Her work has benefited schools and communities, the Woodland Trust, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Neighbourhood Watch.
As a former teacher and lifelong environmentalist, Debbie is in her element when she works with clients where she can combine her love of writing with her interests in education and the environment.
Debbie (née Taylor) set up her own business ‘taylor made information’ offering research, writing and editing services to commercial and not-for-profit clients after leaving The Body Shop in 1997.
Debbie met business and life partner, Mark Griffiths, while working as researcher and speech producer to Dame Anita Roddick at The Body Shop. She helped Anita tell the world about the company’s pioneering stance on fair trade, human rights, environmental issues, women’s rights and ethical business. Debbie trained as an environmental advisor and taught colleagues to be more environmentally aware and active at work.
Debbie taught English to schoolchildren, adults and university students while working in Germany, France and Japan after graduating with a degree in Modern Languages from Aston University.
Today she walks her own talk on CSR by spearheading Ideal’s responsibility activity and reporting and by volunteering in schools as a Reading Partner and Enterprise Ambassador.
